LIDC works with government and private sector agencies on Long Island to bring all resources to bear for our small business clients. Resources include National Grid, LIPA, the counties and towns- departments of economic development, Industrial Development Agencies, trade associations, LI Community Foundation, universities, Small Business Development Centers at Farmingdale and Stonybrook; Entrepreneurship Centers at Hofstra and Suffolk Community College. LIDC is also networked with the commercial and savings banks, credit unions and a variety of nonbank lenders such as Community Development Corporation of Long Island; New York Business Development Corp,; Empire State Certified Development Company; New York State Department of Economic Development (Empire State Development) and others. We will help structure projects and present them to the appropriate funding sources and refer you to the resources which will enhance your company and success.
Project Assistance:
LIDC will provide technical assistance on a project by project basis for small entrepreneurs, nonprofit organizations and government related entities in need of our assistance on a pro bono basis. Types of assistance include: working with a small business to structure an affordable financing package, helping a nonprofit design a journal ad, helping an entrepreneur with internal accounting needs such as setting up quickbooks, providing computer software/hardware assistance. Project assistance is provided through LIDC expert staff with many years of experience.
