Note: The shared services system is new. If you were registered under the old system, you need to
re- register. If you have already paid the $125 annual vendor fee within 12 months, you do not
have to pay again this year. All purchases are now under this system purchases under $500
which only require one recorded quote; purchases $500-$2,999 which require three informal
(verbal) competitive quotes; purchases $3,000-$9,999 which require three written informal
quotations; purchases $10,000 or more which require a formal sealed bid, sent to at least 3
bidders and advertised in Newsday and on www.nassaucountyny.gov “eservices for business bid
solicitation board”. Exceptions to the formal sealed bid rules exist for sole source scenarios and
NYS contract items/services. Note- purchases of $100,000 or more must be presented to the
Nassau County Legislature Rules committee for approval (unless under NYS contract authority).
