Long Island Development Corporation/Greater New York Development Corporation (LIDC/GNYDC) recently held its Ninth Annual Awards to honor contributors to Long Island’s Economic Development. Proceeds from the event are used to support LIDC’S free government contract counseling service, the Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP). PTAP has helped Long Island entrepreneurs procure over $1.5 billion in government contracts. This year the award went to Inspecto, Inc. the PTAP Small Business of the Year Award for designing an amphibious bus as a way to evacuate 2.7 million Long Islanders in the event of a natural disaster or emergency. Congratulations to Anthony Caserta, a former Grumman engineer and his staff, for their ingenuity, expertise and commitment to Long Island. |
