LIDC Supports Kiwanis

Doris Mellina, Business Development Officer of GNYDC, has been installed as President of the Kiwanis Club of LaGuardia Airport. Doris became a member of the Club in1989 when she ran a baggage delivery service for the airlines, serving the tri-state area. Coincidentally, Doris is now handling business development for GNYDC. another tri-state company.

Instead of distributing baggage, she is promoting the use of low cost government related financing for small business and non- profits to help them acquire their own facilities.

Officiating at the installation ceremony, Kiwanis Queens West Division, Lieutenant Govenor, Angelo Maltaghati. Also in attendance was President/CEO Roz Goldmacher and staff members, Patty Cook, Elena Conway and Isabella Tanico. Kiwanis is a global organization dedicated to making a difference - one child and one community at a time.
