LIDC/GNYDC CEO RECEIVES PATHFINDER AWARD FROM TOWN of HEMPSTEAD

Roslyn D. Goldmacher, President/CEO/founder LIDC, was honored by the Town of Hempstead as 2007 Pathfinder for
Business. In addition, Roslyn keynoted the event where Town of Hempstead honored women in the categories of community service, business, and other categories. Chosen by a committee coordinated by the Supervisor's office after formal nominations, Roslyn was honored for her work in the Town of Hempstead with small businesses. In 1980 Roslyn founded LIDC, a regional
economic development organization, which has made over $750 million in direct low cost loans to entrepreneurs, leveraging an additional $2.5 billion in conventional capital and creating or retaining some 60,000 jobs for LI. Under her leadership, LIDC has expanded to offer 14 financing and technical assistance programs for small business , including the highly successful LI Procurement Technical Assistance Program which has brought over $1.5 billion in government contracts to LI through its free counseling service. LIDC has recently introduced a new loan program, The New Market Loan Fund, to meet the needs of LI's not for profit community for low cost second mortgage financing.
