LIDC HOSTS FIRST ANNUAL GOLF OUTING TO BENEFIT PTAP
LIDC held its first annual golf outing
on May 7 honoring John Buran, President Flushing Financial Corp. (holding
company for Flushing Savings Bank). Conducted at the beautiful Hamlet Golf
Course, Commack- some 100 golfers enjoyed perfect weather, a challenging
course and a fun day starting with brunch and ending with a delicious dinner
where the 200 attendees spiritedly collected almost 100 raffle prizes
ranging from $50 Starbucks cards to a weekend at Gurneys and round trip

Honoree John Buran has had a 30+ year career in banking and is on numerous
boards of directors. Flushing is expanding its business lending under
John's guidance and has branched out significantly on Long Island.

The outing benefitted LIDC's Procurement Division which provides free
counseling to help entrepreneurs obtain and perform on government and
private sector contracts.
LIDC, in addition to procurement counseling, provides a variety of low cost
financing to entrepreneurs and not for profits. Major programs include the
SBA 504 second mortgage loan program- available to small businesses buying
their own buildings,condos,coops or equipment- up to 40% of project cost at
low fixed rates. LIDC also offers the New Market Loan Fund- 40% second lien
low cost loans to help not for profits and small businesses acquire their
own homes. LIDC provides the 504 and New Market Loans throughout Long Island
and New York.
