LIDC has helped to create a new resource guide for businesses on Long Island called "LI Citibusiness Connects". Sponsored by Citibank, the resource guide provides information about major financing and incentive programs available to help businesses invest in capital assets on Long Island. Resources described range from low cost financing such as SBA 504 to real estate tax abatements, energy incentives and interest rate subsidies. LIDC brought together the LI economic development community to prepare the guide and hosted numerous meetings for preparation. The guide will be used by economic developers throughout LI to help businesses access resources. LI Citibusiness Connects was unveiled June 16, 2005 for Nassau County businesses in an event keynoted by County Executive Tom Suozzi. The Suffolk version was unveiled the following week for Suffolk businesses. Roz Goldmacher, President/CEO LIDC was a featured speaker at both events.
