LIDC President/CEO Roz Goldmacher with County Executive Levy and LIDC Chairman Doug Asofsky

Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy met with LIDC's board at its June board meeting to discuss economic development on Long Island and seek input from LIDC's members. Levy talked about his plans for downtown revitalization, acquaculture, the Westhampton Airport , business incubators, procurement and homeland security. He was thrilled to hear about LIDC's programs which can help in every area. The 504 Program can finance mixed use buildings in downtowns. The Targeted Industry Revolving Loan Fund can finance fisheries related businesses for the acquaculture program. 504 can finance leasehold improvement by businesses building buildings at the Airport. LISBAC can provide financing to start up and existing women owned businesses in the incubators. LIDC PTAP can provide assistance to businesses seeking to do business with Suffolk County and other government agencies including homeland security business. At conclusion of the meeting, everyone agreed it was very productive for both sides and we will make this an annual event.
