At a recent awards
ceremony honoring those financial institutions that had made the biggest
contribution to economic growth in the realm of small business, Long
Island Development Corporation (LIDC), based in Bethpage, was presented
with the 2003 Silver Award from NY District Office SBA by Hector Barretto,
National Administrator of the federal government's United States Small
Business Administration and Mike Pappas, SBA Region II Administrator.
LIDC was recognized as having lent more money to business in the NY
District than any other lender including the banks. Pictured (L-R)
are Mike Pappas, Phyllis Hill Slater, President of Hill Slater Inc.
and Treasurer of LIDC, Roslyn D. Goldmacher (resident of Westbury),
President and C.E.O. of LIDC, Douglas Asofsky (resident of Wantagh),
Vice President Citibank and Chairman of the Board of LIDC and Hector
