Long
Island Development Corporation President and C.E.O. Roslyn D. Goldmacher,
has been appointed to the National Board of SCORE (Service Corps.
of Retired Executives). SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives)
is a national nonprofit association dedicated to providing professional
guidance and information to America's existing and emerging entrepreneurs
in order to maximize their success. SCORE is comprised of a national
network of over 10,500 volunteer counselors who provide expert in-person
and email advice to over 400,000 American entrepreneurs each year
completely free of charge. SCORE is governed by a national board of
directors and is significantly supported by the US Small Business
Administration and US Congress.
Over the last
three years SCORE has been reorganized into a cutting edge, technology-oriented
resource for small business. As part of the reorganization, the
previously all retired executives board of directors was replaced
with a select group of independent board members. Roz Goldmacher
has been appointed to the national board in order to bring her expertise
in economic development, small business and legal matters. She will
be focusing on quality service improvements including training for
counselors on the latest in economic development initiatives. She
has already been appointed to the Finance Committee in order to
take advantage of her vast knowledge of business organization and
operations. The reorganization of SCORE and Goldmacher's appointment
have been widely applauded.
