Nassau Sports Care Physical Therapy PC is the second oldest physical therapy practice on Long Island. Started in the early 1950’s by Richard Goldstein PT in Hempstead, the company later relocated to Mineola. Current owner John Krupa III joined the practice in 1991 and took it over upon the founder’s retirement in 1998. Along the way Krupa expanded the practice by purchasing other practices, including one in Lynbrook. The growth of the Mineola and Lynbrook practices necessitated larger space and in 2007 Nassau Sports consolidated its operations at one location on Merrick Road in Lynbrook.
The company provides general therapeutic treatments for patients with all types of physical disabilities and issues. While the patient population is primarily orthopedic and sports injury related, they also see a significant number of neurological patients. Nassau Sports has recently developed a personalized exercise program for patients needing supervision to achieve personal goals or working best in small group settings with personal trainers.
The larger, consolidated facility will enable the practice to offer options to people to personalize their exercise programs and ease patient flow. As a long standing physical therapy practice with an excellent reputation for patient service, Nassau Sports receives patient referrals from over 200 physicians on Long Island. Staff at the practice are well trained and always considerate of patient needs.
In this day of short lived businesses, it is refreshing to see a company which has survived and thrived for over 65 years, especially in a service business!
Mike Roseblum of Trimar Realty located the new building for Nassau Sports. The purchase and renovations were financed by a first mortgage from Bank of America (underwritten by Warren Krug) and a second mortgage from Long Island Development Corp. Ken Kowalczyk, from LIDC, handled the second mortgage and was able to provide a 20 year below prime fixed rate loan for Nassau Sports through the SBA 504 loan program.
