45 Yr Old Family Business Flowers In LI Community

Glass shelves, flower carts and beautiful flowers, that’s how Bayview Florists & Montage started back in 1960 in Brooklyn. Almost forty five years later, the company has gone through relocations and three generations of the Marrazzo family. It not only endures despite the ups and downs of small business life but has flourished (along with its flowers) and expanded. Bayview, in addition to providing floral arrangements, carries an extensive line of gifts for all occasions, seeking to provide full service to retail and wholesale customers looking to create an appropriate atmosphere for events and locations.
Bayview’s unique ability to create festive party themes as well as respectful memorial pieces has fueled its growth over the years. Now located in 900 sq ft in a Massapequa strip mall, the company’s success means it is literally bursting at the seams. As a retail operation, Bayview did not want to locate too far from its present location for the convenience of a loyal customer base. Enter a 4,200 sq ft, one- story, free-standing building in Massapequa Park with plenty of parking and the ability to sublease a portion of it for a period of time.
That was it ... the Marrazzos jumped at the opportunity to expand their business space with the cash flow cushion provided by the rental and sought financing which would permit this package. Citibank together with the SBA 504 loan program are providing 90% financing (based on total project cost - acquisition plus renovations and soft costs). Principal Mark Marrazzo is thrilled about the move, “This will enable Bayview to serve a larger constituency with more products and services. The financing package helps us preserve our cash for our working capital needs in the expansion and makes the whole thing affordable.
Thanks to this move, Bayview looks forward to many more years of serving the LI community. If you are a small business looking to expand or you have a small business client looking to buy or build on Long Island, think about the SBA 504 loan program.
